Whenever we think of traveling we usually think of famous places like Miami, London, California, Paris and there is nothing wrong with this thought because these are on everyone’s bucket list. But I recently visited these world’s 18 most underrated travel destinations and I wondered why I didn’t come here before.
We have only one life and there is so much to see and I didn’t want to miss any of those exotic places which may not be very popular but are equally or more exciting.

1.Egypt
I think Egypt is one of the most unique and underrated countries to visit. We have all heard of mummies and pyramids, well this is the place. Pyramids Of Giza is one of seven wonders of the ancient world. Part of Sahar Desert is found in Egypt. So who is up for a camel ride?

Valley Of The Kings
Colored Canyon-It is 800 meters long canyon located in Sinai peninsula. The walls are multi-colored because of stones and minerals.
White Desert National Park
Amun Temple Enclosure
Catacombs Of Kom El Shoqafa-Located in Alexandria, it is an archaeological site and one of the seven wonders of Middle Ages. The architecture is influenced by Greek culture.
Temple Of Edfu- The inscription on the walls gives an idea of the culture of the Hellenistic period.
Gulf Of Aqaba- One of the most well-known diving destinations
The Shali Fortress
So many wonderful places and still one of the world’s most underrated travel destinations. I had dinner at Samakmak, the food was awesome.

2.Savannah, Georgia
It is highly underrated. There are beautiful historical sites like Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace. Other beautiful places are Moon River District, Forsyth Park. Experience the majestic Savannah Tours. Tybee Island is a great place to enjoy. There are beautiful beaches. It is just 20 minutes away from Savannah.
3.Jordan
Jordan is the perfect travel destination for the people who have visited the middle east for the first time. The people are very helpful and friendly. It is also called as the jewel of the middle east.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Jordan has 100,000 archaeological and tourist sites.

Petra in Wadi Musa– The whole city is carved in the mountain. In the city, there are various structures carved in rock including Al Kazneh-also known as Treasury which has been named as one of the New Seven Wonders of the world. It is perfect for Instagram moment.
Dead Sea-It is the lowest point in the earth,402 meters below sea level and becomes 1 meter lower each year. There are water parks, international restaurants, and public beaches.
Wadi Rum-Perfect for hiking and rock climbing. You can camp out in Wadi Rum in yurts made of wool. You will enjoy camel rides here. I was very hungry so we went to the Rum Gate restaurant and had a great meal.

4.Tohoku, Japan
Located in Honshu Island, it is known for skiing and volcanoes. There are beautiful mountains, hot springs, and lakes. Maiko performances are something to watch out for.
5.Slovenia
I wonder why is Slovenia in the list of one of the most underrated travel destinations and I mean it, it has got everything, from beaches to waterfalls to mountains to amazing caves and beautiful landscapes.
I loved Slovenian cuisine and if you love wine, Slovenian wine is a must. People are very warm and it has got a vibrant culture.

2. The Baroque and Art church building in Lake Bled is something you should definitely see.
3.Mount Triglav- It is the highest mountain in Slovenia and a sight to see.

5.The beautiful Predjama castle
6. For music festivals, the Ljubljana summer festival is held every year from July to August.
7. I did hiking in the Julian Alps, it was an amazing experience.

6.St.Petersburg, Florida
It has beautiful sand beaches. The weather is very pleasant here throughout the year. Fort De Soto Park is incredible. It is a great place for hiking and camping. The other amazing places are Dali Museum and Sunken Gardens.
7.Bolivia
When it comes to natural wonders Bolivia stands tall. From salt pan of Salar de Uyuni to Amazon jungle, it really packs a punch.
It may not be one of the popular countries of South America but is sure to be added to your bucket list, one of the best places to visit in South America and one of the most underrated holiday destinations. It is a country with a varied terrain spanning Andes Mountain and the Atacama Desert.

8.Toronto,Canada
Toronto is one of the most underrated travel destinations. The capital of Ontario, Toronto has many beautiful places. Royal Ontario Museum is one of the best museums in North America. It is a land of multi-culture. To see the best multicultural environment visit Kensington Market. There are some amazing shopping complexes.
Ripley’s Aquarium Of Canada is very famous here. Art Gallery Of Ontario has some amazing sculptures and paintings. High Park is an amazing place to unwind.
9.Georgia
If you like adventure sports like hiking, snowboarding, skiing, beachside biking then Georgia is apt for you.
With a rich history and culture, Georgia has so much to offer. The castles and towers are built with typical Georgian architecture and are perfect for beautiful photography.
I liked the Georgian cuisine, especially Adjarian Khachapuri. Georgia has to be on your travel bucket list. People are very gentle and warm here.

10.Tongyeong, South Korea
Located on the southern coast of South Korea, Tongyeong is one of the most fascinating cities. It has a beautiful and huge Hallyeohaesang National Park. To experience the beauty of this park get a cable car ride. View from the top of Mireuksan Mountain. The view from the top is mesmerizing. Gangguan Port is known for its amazing restaurants and shopping complexes.

11.South Africa
When we think of South Africa we mostly think of wildlife and safari but there is a lot more to it.
South Africa has a vibrant culture, the food is so delicious and the music, though it is different from what we usually hear, once you will get used to it you will start liking it. The beautiful landscape and architecture with a deep history behind it are something you will cherish.

The list has become too long, isn’t it? But I can’t help it in fact, there were a few more places in my bucket list but I was running out of time but these are a must.

12.Greenpoint,Brooklyn
It has hipster appeal. Greenpoint Terminal Market is one of the most sought after places. You will get all kinds of things you want to buy be it clothes, jewelry, plants, and a lot more things. The donuts are amazing here. WNYC Transmitter Park provides an amazing scenic view.
13. Lebanon
Honestly, I did not expect much from Lebanon, I thought there isn’t anything special here. But I was absolutely wrong. It was a surreal experience in Lebanon. Since I love food as you know, Lebanese food is something you have to eat as soon as you come here, it is so yummy.
Kibbe was my favorite dish, I had it for my breakfast. I attended the Baalbeck International festival and I really enjoyed it, the culture, the costume everything was different yet amazing.

14.Adelaide,Australia
It is certainly one of the most underrated travel destinations. Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Central Market, Adelaide Botanic Garden are some of the best places here. I loved Glenelg which is a seaside resort and loved by locals and tourists alike. Carrick Hill is another hot spot. For mountain biking visit the beautiful Cobbler Creek Recreation Park and to taste the best wine visit National Wine Centre.
15.South Korea
I was not sure about this but when I went there I was astonished. There is so much this country offers in terms of beauty and scenery.
It is known for the green hilly countryside dotted with cherry trees and Buddhist temples, and subtropical islands.
It is a country with amazing landscapes, delicious food, and fascinating festivals. I really loved the food here.

16.Singapore
Singapore is one of the most visited tourist destinations in recent times and there are umpteen reasons. If I start counting the places to visit, it will take me a few hours. I wonder why it is one of the world’s underrated destinations.
It attracted 18.5 million visitors last year. Transport is quite extensive here.

17.Turkey
We have all heard of Istanbul but Turkey has a lot more to offer for the tourists especially passionate tourists.
Turkey is high on energy and full of diversity.
Turkey has a very diverse culture and is a blend of Turkic, Anatolian, Ottoman and Western culture. Music basically covers Turkic elements. Turkic architecture is influenced by European styles. I learned to play some instruments here but I must confess I am still a bad musician.
One thing I would like to mention here. We all love traveling and we go to a lot of places but anything can happen at any time, we may lose our luggage or an accident or anything. We have to be prepared for it, so in this case, if we have good travel insurance it will cover us completely.

I think it`s time I started saving to take some of these trips.I have been lucky enough to visit turkey and Egypt (loved Luxor, sailing the Nile and time in Hurgada was brilliant)but your list makes me realize all that there is still to see out there, thanks so much for sharing.
