It is that time of the year when everything looks bright and vibrant as if life has opened a new chapter, yes I am talking about fall. I had decided to see which places in the USA look the best in the fall so I started my journey and made a list of the best places to see fall foliage in the USA.

1.Stowe, Vermont
Stowe is very popular during fall especially for fall colors and different outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, biking. Stowe Hollow Road is very impressive as there are private farms and you can see beautiful mountains with foliage as a backdrop. Green Mountain Byway is the best location to see the fall beauty especially from Mount Mansfield, the highest peak of the State.
2.Connecticut River Byway, Vermont
The Connecticut River Byway starts from South Hadley and finishes at West Stewartstown. You will enjoy the foliage throughout this route. Most of the part of the National Byway comes under Vermont. We stopped at a few river towns to enjoy the New England Culture.
3.Sparrow Farm Road, Vermont
Sparrow Farm Road is located in East Montpelier. You need to take North Street from Montpelier. You will see beautiful foliage and orange trees. The view is spectacular.
4.Shires Of Vermont Byway
It begins on Route 7 which is located in Green Mountain National Forest, an amazing place to see fall foliage. From there as byway ends you can explore Upstate New York to again experience fall colors.
5.Lake Elmore, Vermont
It is located in Worcester town, Vermont. From Stowe take Route 100 to reach Lake Elmore. The drive is so amazing as you get to see beautiful views on either side of the road. It is perfect for camping and picnic.
6.Montpelier, Vermont
Fall foliage in Vermont is known worldwide and what better place than Montpelier. Located in the Green Mountains Appalachian gap looks spectacular in fall. Camel’s Hump is the perfect hiking spot. Hubbard Park and North Branch Vineyards are the other attractions here.

7.Woodstock,Vermont
Woodstock looks spectacular in fall. It takes 5 hours to reach here from New York City. My favorite place is the Middle Cover Bridge. Located on Cloudland road Sleepy Hollow Farm is the most famous farm here. Mount Tom trail is the most famous hike in Woodstock.I loved the coffee at Abra Ka Dabra Coffee.

8.Upper Peninsula, Michigan
The best time to see fall colors is from mid-September to mid-October. The scenic view is surreal from Michigan highway. The other place you must see in fall is Copper Harbor. Another hot spot is the Mackinac Bridge. Located in the northernmost part of the Upper Peninsula is Keweenaw Peninsula on Lake Superior’s shore. It looks spectacular in the fall.
You must see the beautiful Porcupine Mountains Wilderness, State Park. I had a great time on Mackinac Island in Lake Huron. It has beautiful Victorian architecture.
9.Acadia National Park, Maine
Visit Acadia National Park in early October when the leaves are at their peak. The first place I visited was Cadillac Mountain. It is perfect for hiking. Next, I visited the beautiful Bar Harbor. You can do kayaking or whale watching here. The scenic beauty in autumn is to die for. I would recommend you to visit Bradbury Mountain as well. It looks beautiful in fall and again a perfect hiking spot.
10.Taos,New Mexico
The best time to visit for fall foliage is between mid-September and mid-October. The most spectacular spot to view the fall beauty is Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. Aspens are a major draw here. Eagle Nest and Red River are a must-see too.

11.Laurel Highlands, Pennsylvania
The ideal time to visit for fall foliage is in mid-October. I visited Ohiopyle State Park as I heard about its scenic beauty in fall and it lived up to the expectations. After this, I visited 68 miles Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway. You will see magnificent waterfalls and beautiful architectures along the way.
How can you forget Fallingwater historical landmark.It is a must watch especially during fall.

12.Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina
BlueRidge Mountain Chain’s highest peak is Grandfather Mountain which is located in Linville North Carolina. More than 70 species are found here. There are some amazing hiking trails. The major highlight is the swinging bridge. You must visit the Nature Museum as well. Woods walk is a great picnic spot.
13.Catskills Mountains, New York
Take a scenic drive and experience the beauty of Catskills in fall. Foliage starts in October. Fall festivals are very famous in Catskills so make the most of it. Visit Mount Utsayantha to experience the real beauty of fall foliage.

14.Shenandoah National Park, Virginia
To see the most beautiful colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains you must go to 105-mile Skyline Drive. Blue Ridge Parkway is located on the eastern side of the park and it is a must-watch. Check about the annual bike festival too with the authorities.

15.Ozark Mountains, Missouri
Hawksbill Crag is the best place to see fall leaves. Bostons Mountains scenic drive is something to watch out for. You will see different tree species like maple, oak, and hickory. The Ozarks is the perfect place for Instagram moments as there are so many scenic beauties. Talimena which is a 54 -mile stretch is another spot to watch out for.

16.Leavenworth, Washington
The Cascade Mountains is one of the major highlights here. It looks amazing during the fall. Lake Wenatchee is home to beautiful yellow trees. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Oktoberfest is a major event that happens every year in October so don’t miss it.

17.White Mountains, New Hampshire
The best time to visit the White Mountains is between early September and early October.34 miles long Kancamagus Highway is a major attraction here. It looks fabulous in autumn. Flume Gorge and Franconia Notch State Park are some of the other must-see places.It is one of the best places to see fall foliage in New England.

Named after Aspen trees Aspen is one of my favorite places during fall especially the magical Maroon Bells. I enjoyed the bike ride in Rio Grande Trail.

We all know Portland is famous for cherry blossoms but many people are not aware of the fall foliage of Portland.It is at par with all the best fall foliage destinations in USA.Few of the must see spots are Hoyt Arboretum Loop,Maple Wildwood Loop and Trail Of Ten Falls Loop.You must see Sauvie Island as well to see the fall beauty.It is just half an hour drive from Portland.
20.Shawangunk Mountains,New York
Shawangunk Mountains offers amazing scenic view during fall.It looks magical.This 88 mile loop is a major draw for visitors during fall.
